SIP Really Works: Mobility, Multimedia, Numbers
At a live demonstration at ITEXPO, Intertex showed that SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) can do far more than just replicate the old telephony service (POTS). The live demonstration, involving the audience, was held at Ingate’s SIP Trunk-Unified Communication Seminar in Miami, February 2011.
Intertex showed:
Mobility
(the PBXs and SIP trunks were actually located in Sweden)
• Home workers and road warriors connected to the company PBX
• Everyone has all PBX services
Multimedia
• Adding Video, IM and Presence
• And HD Voice
• And Telepresence
Numbers
• Traditional E.164 telephone numbers can be used
• And also usable SIP addresses – Just like email addresses!
